Answers to Your Top Pest Control FAQs

Pest control can be complicated. We understand that no matter what service you are getting, you are likely to have questions. That’s why our team is always here with answers to your top pest control FAQs.

When can we expect results? We understand that you want results ASAP. We do our best to get you that quickly, however, in most cases, undoing years worth of pest issues can’t happen overnight. This is why we start you off with two services back to back. The first service will get things moving and target the active adults. The second treatment will finalize the service and leave you with a long term residual. Most people notice results pretty quickly, but will still see pests off and on for the first month. Typically a week after the second spray, you should be at your full potential.

Will we still see pests? The number of pests will greatly drop after the initial service and dead pests may be seen shortly after application. However, this process will continue for several weeks after the initial service as the pests continue to be flushed out. After the original infestation has been eliminated, pests will continue to enter your home in search for sources of food and water and an occasional sighting may occur. This emphasizes the importance of the regular follow-up services to maintain the exterior barrier and prevent entrance to your home.

Why do we need service in the winter? Contrary to what most believe, pests don’t die off when the temperature drops. In fact, some insects like spiders, produce antifreeze to combat the cold, while others go into an “overwinter” state. Also, during the colder months rodents are looking for a warm place to nest. While the pest sightings may be greatly reduced, they are busy behind the scenes. This is the time when pests get ready to come out in spring. By keeping an active barrier around the property and in cracks and crevices, the spring time pest population will be greatly reduced and you can avoid worrying about what may be trying to get inside to stay warm.

It’s going to rain/snow, should we postpone service? We will never service a property that we can’t leave with our stamp of approval. We back everything we do with a guarantee and won’t service if the treatment would be ineffective. Our products have a surfactant which causes it to bind to the surface once it dries. It will not wash. Plus, the granules we use are water activated and typically where we treat is under an eave overhang, keeping the immediate area around the home dry. However, if it is actively raining or snowing, we may reschedule your service for another day.

Are the treatments safe for kids and pets? Everything we offer is safe for your loved ones. We have a variety of safe solutions, most botanically derived and even some 100% organic alternatives. We are current on licensing and up-to-date on the best methods.
